It's all in your mind

Some people like to say "it's all in your mind," as though that means "it's not real." "Magic is all in your mind. The Gods are all in your mind."

I would agree that magic, gods and luck are all in the mind, but that doesn't make them unreal.

Your personality, sense of self, knowledge and all your skills are "all in your mind." Are those not real?

We can use our Transrational faculties, explore them, experiment with them and play with them without attributing rational truth to their fruits. Reason is like a saw. A powerful, electric, laser-guided saw. But sometimes you need a corkscrew.
